What is Myofascial Release (MFR)?
Myofascial release is a hands on bodywork technique that uses a gentle, sustained dynamic pressure on the body to reach into the continuous three-dimensional web of connective tissue, called fascia. This pressure, held over a period of time, can reduce pain and facilitate longer lasting, gentle shifts on all levels of your being by relaxing the nervous system and releasing adhesions and restrictions within the fascial web. When restrictions in the fascia are released and rehydrated, the body can shift into a more neutral alignment as physical and emotional holding patterns are changed, and pressure on pain sensitive structures are eased. Pain levels can subside, emotional stress and tension can be reduced, tightness can be alleviated, and your range of motion can improve. Myofascial release works by addressing underlying causes of these restrictions. Craniosacral therapy, massage cupping, visceral manipulation, vibroacoustic sound therapy, and therapeutic massage are other modalities that are frequently woven into your treatment to further enhance your session.

This gentle, safe, and effective hands on approach to bodywork helps to:
Lengthen tight, bunched muscles,
Alleviate chronic tension and pain,
Improve mobility and sports performance,
Free yourself from stuck holding patterns,
Increase your energy levels while relaxing the nervous system,
Expand your sense of well being,
And most importantly it has the potential to create lasting results.
Give yourself the gift of feeling good.
You are worth it!
You are worth it!

As the fascia softens over time, the prolonged sustained pressure your myofascial release therapist is using follows this tissue release into an opening and lengthening. The result is reduced pain and increased mobility, all without forcing or causing injury to your body.
There is no rigid protocol for treatment. Each session is different, and based on what your body presents in the moment.

*Please avoid lotion and oil on treatment day, and wear loose gym shorts and sports bra, or something comparable, for your evaluation and treatment.
